Low carb day 90: 43 pounds lost and my favorite low carb foods
As I mentioned in my December 11 blog post about how I'd lost 30 pounds, I've been dropping weight. Today (day 90) I'm down 43 pounds total. I started out at 235 pounds and now sit at 192. This is nearly the lightest I've been in 13 years (I got down to 190 in high school). Other than that one time I've been heavier than this since I was about 12 or so. I've never been able to get rid of the gut, which is now in my sights thanks to low carb. And it all happened in just 3 months.
I'd like to highlight some of the food that I've been eating that's low carb. In all the cases where it's substituting for a higher carb item, I actually like the low carb one just as much or better. Go figure.

- Low Carb home made bread (3.5g/carb per slice)
- Burgers
- Gorton's Fish
- Steamed Broccoli, Cauliflower, Asparagus
- Celery
- Blackberries
- Jerky
- Soy Slender soymilk
- Low carb sauces from Netrition.com
- Chocolate
- Popcorn
- Rum and coke
- Miller Lite
- Brownies
- Cookies
- Ice cream
- Pickles
- Pancakes
- Cottage cheese (Michigan brand)
- Any kind of cheese
- Sugar free Jello
- Eggs
- Isopure protein powder drinks (breakfast)
- Home made flatout light pizza
- Diet soda
I'm always looking for new low carb foods. Honestly, half of the list above looks like junk food. And I even have alcohol on it! There are 0 carbs in hard liquor, by the way. This is the best "diet" ever.
